Stockholm
contemporary nostalgia
The majority of Sweden is covered with extensive forests. Bears and elk roam freely through the unspoilt national parks. And there are also large areas of production forest. Because the Swedes love wood. Wood floors, wooden furniture and wooden accessories adorn many homes also made of wood – generally painted the warm ‘falu’ red that is also typically Swedish. And all that wood is complemented with bold nautical steel and beautiful items of glassware made in Glasriket – the Kingdom of Crystal in the south of the country.
Contemporary with a hint of nostalgia. And the same goes for our Stockholm series. The extensive range of lanterns is reminiscent of the many canals in Stockholm, which is also described as the ‘Venice of the North’. The simple nickel accessories are a modern take on old utensils. And, needless to say, there is plenty of wood. In a warm dark colour. Strong sturdy tables with steel legs that create a lovely contrast. And lamp bases that are thick as tree trunks, with dazzling white shades. An exciting interplay of lines, styles and times.
